Music’s biggest names are set to celebrate the life of Whitney Houston in a star-studded tribute to the late singer in LA. Britney Spears, Halle Berry Jennifer Hudson, and LL Cool J are among those honouring the legend.
The show – set to air as a one hour special called: We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston on Global November 16 – features pre-taped tributes that were recorded at the Nokia Theatre this week and we have your sneak peek.
Jennifer Hudson calls Whitney “a blueprint” for herself, opening up the show with a trio of the singer’s beloved hits. And at the show’s rehearsals, the Dream Girls star reveals how much she was deeply impacted by the icon. She recalls when she performed in front of Whitney at the BET Awards: ” She said ‘I turn my torch over to you,’ and did her famous bow and I lost my mind.”
Britney Spears is another star who was “in love” with her and she shares similar fond memories of her idol: “I remember being with my little sister and I would always clean the house with the vacuum cleaner listening to I Want to Dance with Somebody. That was my favourite video I’d watch when I was younger.”
