UPDATE: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have just reached a divorce settlement! After releasing a joint statement this morning, requesting privacy as they work out a custody agreement for their little girl, the Hollywood exes have come to an agreement.
Under two weeks after Katie filed for divorce, her lawyer confirms the deal in a statement to People: “The case has been settled and the agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life.”
“We thank Tom’s counsel for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution,” her attorney Jonathan Wolfe continues.
And Tom’s lawyer, Dennis Wasser, reveals to ET, “The case is settled. It is done!”
Earlier today, the former couple released a joint statement requesting privacy in regards to their daughter: “We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests. We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other’s commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other’s roles as parents.”
Meanwhile, sources tell ET that Tom is only days from a reunion with Suri, 6, and that she will most likely remain with her mother in New York for the near future while Tom shoots back-to-back movies around the world.
