It’s been nine years since Coldplay released their last live album and they’ve never put out a concert video before, but their Mylo Xyloto tour was such a hit with fans that the band has gone ahead and done both. Frontman Chris Martin goes as far as calling their 2012 tour, “the most fun we’ve ever had as a band”, and he says what makes the difference is that crowds are now increasingly more involved in the show.

Coldplay fans can get in on the fun thanks to the band developing their own glowing wristbands. Chris tells ET Canada’s Erin Cebula, it’s sends tingles down his spine when he sees the stadium light up. “It’s phenomenal to look at onstage. We always dreamed of something like that and now we, very expensively, have it every day, but it’s worth it though!” Chris adds with a laugh, “U2 paid for it!”

The man behind the concert film, Paul Dugale, who also directed Adele’s as well as The Prodigy’s live releases, calls the production a ” 90 minute kaleidoscope of emotions.” He says viewers will get an inside look from all the seats in the house and he hopes it will make their “eyes widen and their hearts beat faster.”

Live 2012 is set for release on Blu-ray and on CD on November 20th, but it is available for pre-order now. Why not take a sneak peek at Coldplay’s show in the video below!
