The cast of Modern Family is featured on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter and they’re spilling all the secrets to the show’s whopping success.
The show’s creator, Chris Lloyd, is often dumbfounded by the success of the sitcom, saying: “I remember Ed [O'Neill] coming and saying, ‘Steven Spielberg grabbed me at Starbucks and could not stop talking about the show.’ Or Ty talking about going to the White House Correspondents Dinner and seeing Colin Powell from across the room give him a thumbs up. Those kinds of things are really exciting; you don’t get to be a part of that very often.”
The show is back for its fourth season this fall after a summer of nasty headlines and a canceled table read. The actors not only got sizeable raises – ones that are reported to escalate to roughly $350,000 an episode in the show’s eight season – but they got a couple of major storylines as well.
We all know that Sofia Vergara’s character, Gloria, is pregnant, but THR has many more show spoilers suggesting that the pregnancy will make a big impression with Claire, as well as Cam and Mitchell. Meanwhile, Haley is off to college, while her younger sister changes up her look, and Manny and Luke get some more screen time crashing Bar Mitzvah’s.
