Miley Cyrus, 19, shines on the cover of the September issue of Marie Claire and it’s no surprise why. Her photo shoot took place only an hour after her engagement to hunky beau Liam Hemsworth was announced!
In the interview, Miley reveals exclusive details about the engagement saying it was a “complete surprise” when Hemsworth popped the question at their California home. And she wasn’t the only one caught in the moment. She says her parents were equally surprised as they weren’t aware of Hemsworth’s plan.
Miley shares her thoughts on her engagement ring: “I had no input. We’d been kind of talking about getting engaged… I saw it online at one point and thought it was really pretty… I just love that it’s old and has a story.”
And for all those skeptics out there, Miley says “life is too short not to be with the person you want to be with.” The actress adds, “I don’t really care about the wedding or the piece of paper as much as I do the promise we’ve made to each other.”
