Beyonce and Destiny’s Child may have bowled over football fans with their explosive halftime show, but there was another comeback that caused just as much buzz in New Orleans over the weekend! That was Justin Timberlake’s performance at the DirecTV’s Super Bowl party.
JT thrilled the star-studded crowd when he took to the stage for the first time in five years, with pals Jay-Z and Timbaland.
When the Suit and Tie singer called in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” recently, he opened up about his and Timbaland’s process on the highly anticipated The 20/20 Experience album set to drop March 19. “We end up with twice as much stuff than goes on the record,” he tells Ryan. And although the duo did make more than 20 songs in 20 days, he says that wasn’t the story behind the album’s name, which was actually his best friend’s vision. “I was playing some of the stuff for my friends and they would come in and out of the studio and I’d say, ‘What do you think of this?’ And my best friend said, ‘This is music that you can see,’ and for some reason that stuck with me.”
Of course, Justin and long-time love, Jessica Biel, tied the knot in October, but he says wedding planning didn’t really interfere with his music making process. “A lot of it was done before October… and I think the men can speak for me by saying that type of process you really just say, ‘Whatever you want, honey,’” jokes Justin.
