It looks like Jennifer Lopez just let the cat out of the bag on the “American Idol” judging lineup with Katie Couric. In an interview that’s set to air Friday on Katie, JLo sits down with the host and dishes about her divorce, her young boyfriend and life after Idol. While Fox has yet to confirm the show’s judging panel, Katie’s people just released an excerpt from their interview and it seems they jump the gun, by announcing the new additions!
KC: What do you think about the new group of judges?
JL: Did they announce?
JL: Who is it?
KC: Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Randy [Jackson]. Randy’s back.
JL: Randy is! Oh thank God. I love Randy. I’m glad he’s doing it.
KC: What do you think of that group? That’s sort of interesting, don’t you think?
JL: That’s an eclectic group.
JL: Yeah it is.
KC: I’m glad. I think it will be fun to have Keith Urban there.
JL: I think they all have something really different to offer so it should be interesting.
JLo also opens up about her post-divorce struggles on the show: “Nobody wants to break up a family. I’m just trying to get it right.” Then, of course there’s Casper Smart, the singer’s 24-year-old back-up dancer boyfriend and the ongoing buzz about their 18-year age difference, which Jennifer defends. “The whole number thing, for me, it’s hard for me to get my whole head around,” she tells Katie.
