Bradley Cooper’s character in “The Words” is a struggling writer who steals another author’s work to become successful. The Hollywood heartthrob tells ET Canada that he can identify with what it is like to face challenges in his own life and shares details on the night he felt he was a failure as an actor.

“I remember there was a point where the people I was working with… had stopped representing me and I was literally just gonna go back to the east coast and go to school,” he reveals. “And I was watching Punch, Drunk Love in a movie theatre that night and I thought I can’t not do this.”

Meanwhile, Ben Barnes, who plays a young Jeremy Irons in the film – the real author of the story Bradley’s character claimed as his own – tells Matte Babel that he has always wanted to be able to play musical instruments well. “I’m still trying so hard,” he admits. “I have a piano, I sit at it. I have a guitar, I strum at it. I just want to be able to sing and do it at the same time.”
