Carrie Underwood is a self proclaimed homebody, but she tells TODAY‘s Matt Lauer her secrets to keep things as homey as possible while she’s on the road.

“You know, just little things, like the sheets that I’m used to and my dogs are running around,” she reveals on Wednesday. “It’s nice to have those little comforts.”

The Blown Away artist is clearly thrilled that things have gone so well for her since winning Season 4 of American Idol: “Now I’m a few albums in and a few tours in and I think everything keeps getting better.”

But the songstress isn’t taking anything for granted, giving back to those in need as part of her North American tour. Doing her part, Carrie says a dollar from every tour ticket she sells will go to the American Red Cross.
