The summer season officially kicks off next week for Global’s line-up of hit new and returning shows.
The heatwave begins with the dancing and singing coworkers vying for a big win for their charities as season two of Canada Sings returns Tuesday May 15th at 10.00 et/pt. Judges Vanilla Ice and Jann Arden return for the second season, with new judge Laurieann Gibson, choreographer for stars like Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson and Nicki Minaj. The show is hosted by ET Canada‘s very own Matte Babel and delves into an emotional roller coaster as ordinary workers train to dance and sing like superstars in order to win $25,000 for their charities.
And keeping with the singing theme, Duets makes its debut Thursday May 24 at 8.00 et/pt. Superstars Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Jennifer Nettles and Robin Thicke are setting out on a journey across America to find their next singing partner. Duets finds undiscovered talent across the country resulting in two of the best singers who will perform a duet with the superstars. In the end, only one duet will rise to the top and win a recording contract with Hollywood Records.
Also in May, your favourite Rookies return for a third season of Rookie Blue on Thursday May 24 at 10.00 et/pt with the first episode starring the one and only William Shatner. This season the rookies learn that experience isn’t everything, and have to deal with the many bumps in the road coming their way.
Another returning favourite – Julie Chen and the Big Brother house! Big Brother 14 returns Thursday July 12 at 9.00 et/pt three times a week bringing together a diverse group of loud, dramatic and wild contestants spending the summer in a house and turning on each other for a chance at $500,000.
From wild contestants to wild dogs, Dogs in the City debuts on Global Wednesday May 30 at 8.00 et/pt. This reality series based on dogs and dysfunctional families stars New York City dog guru Justin Silver. Silver proves himself a master at resolving issues between owners and their dogs.
The Glee Project is coming to Global! You watched the winners all season long on Glee, now it’s time for new talent vying for a spot on the hit show.
