It doesn’t have to be the holidays for one songstress to get into the spirit of giving. The Sarah McLachlan School of Music in Vancouver provides free education to at-risk youth all year round, but this season Sarah and her students have a special gift for fans.
They’ve joined forces with the singer’s longtime producer Pierre Marchand, who also collaborated on “Building a Mystery” and “Fumbling Towards Ecstasy”, to create an inspiring benefit song called “Find Your Voice”.
“Christmas can be tough for a lot of people and it’s a lovely gift to be able to offer this every year,” says the Grammy Award-winning singer, who also partnered with teens last year for her “Space on the Couch for Two” release.
ET Canada joins Sarah on the set of her new video where she explained her commitment to music programs: “I cannot imagine not having music in my life when I was growing up, and a lot of kids don’t have that opportunity. So for me this was such an obvious choice to get involved with children and music education.”
In the true giving spirit, “Find Your Voice” is free for download on sarahmclachlan.com, where fans have the option to also make a donation to the school. Watch Sarah and the students film their video in the clip below!
