You’d think after becoming famous for a song called “Bad Day”, you’d know exactly how to avoid having one yourself! But as Rick Campanelli found out, Canadian-born singer Daniel Powter knows that isn’t the case.

Back in 2006, Daniel had a hit song and worldwide recognition, but with long hours on the road he found himself exhausted, turning to drugs and alcohol. Admitting to ET Canada that he “spiraled downhill with addiction” and eventually entered into rehab he says: “It was almost like I had to take the batteries out and reset myself to be a different person… it took me a long time to get through [it]… and to change my life around and change my attitude.”

Thankfully for fans, Daniel is back and better than ever! His new album “Turn On The Lights” hits stores today and this time he seems to be focusing on the bigger picture, telling us: “I really am fortunate to be able to have a second chance. You know I burnt a lot of bridges in my past. So for me to have a second chance is amazing. I really feel like I’m supposed to be doing what I’m doing now.”
