Christina Applegate returns to host Saturday Night Live on October 13 and she’s pumped to be back in the Big Apple, after having lived in NYC a few years back during her one-year stint on Broadway. “I have my whole family here, so it’s been really nice to just boogie around New York with them,” she reveals to NBCUniversalDirect.com.
And returning to SNL for the first time in 19 years is even more of a thrill for the actress. “It’s a well-oiled machine,” she says of the show that celebrated its 37th birthday on Thursday. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with [Lorne Michaels] on Up All Night… so I really know him and I love and respect him.”
Christina was tight lipped about the skits they have in store for her on this weekend’s show, but she did say she will be playing a very famous ’60s rocker. “I’m playing Janis Joplin,” she says, joking, “I think that’s all I’m gonna give you.”
