Christian Bale is back in “The Dark Knight Rises” for the final installment of director, Christopher Nolan’s trilogy and he talks with our Matte Babel about suiting up as the iconic character one last time. “It’s bittersweet, you know,” he admits. “I’m very proud of it. It’s been wonderful, it’s been a helluva ride.”
The actor stars alongside Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy as Bane and Catwoman in this last film of the trilogy. Christian says he’s happy to have brought “a different spin to… the Batman story and then ultimately to recognize when it’s time to say goodbye.”
Viewers will get to see what made Matte cry when the movie hits theatres on July 20. “First of all I gotta say if someone told me I was going to cry in Batman movie, I don’t know if I’d believe them,” admits Matte.
But, each of the “Dark Knight” films has elements that are topical and of the time, that bring it true to life. “Whilst we were shooting this in New York, we were a couple of blocks from the Occupy Wall Street protestors and it was uncanny,” says Christian. “I was looking at Chris going, ‘How did you know?’”
