Barbra Streisand has won two Oscars, five Emmys, 10 Grammys, a Tony, 12 Golden Globes and directed three films which garnered a total of 14 Oscar nominations. So, it’s no wonder even a media mogul like Katie Couric was starstruck in the legend’s presence. In a rare television interview on “Katie”, set to air Tuesday, Babs sits down for a one-on-one with the newly appointed talk show host. She’s promoting her new album “Release Me”, featuring never-before-heard material, set to hit stores October 8th and also dishes about her celebrated career on the talk show.

Barbra, who is now 70- years-old, proves to be as driven and witty as ever. When Katie asks: “You never did a third Broadway album, do you think you might still?” Babs replies with a grin: “It ain’t over till the fat lady sings,” making the audience go wild.

Katie and Barbra also bond over one of the most touching moments on film – when Babs reveals how she came up with the now iconic gesture of brushing the hair off  Robert Redford’s face: “I envisioned some movement that I could do that would come up time and time again, like a great music cue, that when you do that moment it brings the audience back to the whole emotional life of the characters.” Katie sheepishly replies, “Is it wrong that I kind of want you to do that to my hair?” And of course Babs is thrilled to re-enact the famous hair sweep on Katie.
