They’ve kept mum about their real-life romance, but the intense on-set chemistry between “The Amazing Spider-Man” co-stars Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield is undeniable. And in the August edition of Teen Vogue, Andrew gives a glimpse of his strong feelings for his co-star, comparing their first meeting to an awakening: “She was the last person to screen-test, and I was so bored of it by then that I was mucking about—I’d been pretending I was Tom Hanks or Seth Rogen.”

The actor says none of the other actresses auditioning for the role of Gwen Stacy, struck him like Emma did: “She came in, and it was like diving into white-water rapids and having no desire to hang on to the side. Throughout shooting, it was wild and exciting. I couldn’t help but try to stay with her, keep pace with her, and not let her get away. [Laughs] Like an animal preying on a smaller animal, but a wily smaller animal.”

Andrew is full of compliments and he gushes over another actor who amazed him during a screen test… Ryan Gosling. “That freaking dreamboat. I think I’m more attracted to Ryan Gosling than any woman could ever be… He was just so inspiring. He reminded me of what I imagined Pacino and De Niro were like back in the day – that kind of truthful, visceral, lived-in acting.”

And the love stories continue – Emma also reveals how playing Gwen Stacy to his Peter Parker was one of the best experiences of her life. And, in the behind-the-scenes video of their shoot (below) the gorgeous couple also dish about their first loves.
